11 Habits of Kingdom Entrepreneurs That Drive Business Growth
1. PRODUCTIVE
“In all toil there is profit, but mere talk tends only to poverty.” (pROVERBS 14:23)
Owning a business isn’t for everyone because of how much hard work it takes to build a successful business. It takes a lot of effort and determination to keep pushing, so no wonder many people give up after a while.
If you want to be one of the successful kingdom entrepreneurs, you have to learn to be productive. To be productive means you are in the habit of getting things done. A productive person doesn’t procrastinate or waste time or resources.
When you’re productive, you can get a lot of things done within a short amount of time. Being productive can boost your business growth because productivity increases output. So instead of spending ten hours completing a task or creating a product, a really productive entrepreneur can cut the number of hours it takes, or create more products within that time frame.
There are lots of reasons many kingdom entrepreneurs aren’t as productive as they could be. Some common reasons include:
- Distractions
- Overwhelm
- Inadequate tools or resources
- Lack of knowledge
These are four of the most common reasons for lack of productivity. Can you identify with anyone of them?
If you’re struggling to stay productive, take a good look at how you spend your time, and try to figure out why you are not as productive as you should be.
It’s going to be difficult to be a successful kingdom entrepreneur without increasing your productivity. Below is a very useful article on ways to increase your productivity.

2. CREATIVE
“And he has filled him with the Spirit of God, with skill, with intelligence, with knowledge, and with all craftsmanship, to devise artistic designs, to work in gold and silver and bronze,” (Exodus 35:31-32)
Creative kingdom entrepreneurs tend to do better than non-creative entrepreneurs. First, let’s define what we mean by creativity. To be creative means you’re always thinking of new ways to do things better. When you’re creative, you’re good at coming up with solutions other people don’t think about.
A creative entrepreneur thinks outside the box. They are willing to take risks even if they fail. They don’t rest on their laurels but are always looking to get better and to come up with new solutions to old problems.
How do you become more creative?
Anyone can become more creative if they apply themselves. Some ways to increase your creativity include: reading more, becoming more inquisitive, developing critical thinking skills, and a willingness to be wrong.
Not all your ideas are going to be winners, but that shouldn’t stop you from sharing new ideas.

3. PASSIONATE
What does it mean to be passionate and why do you need to be?
Kingdom entrepreneurship requires you to be passionate about your calling or ministry. Building a kingdom business isn’t one of those things that you can do half-heartedly. Without a passion for God and his purpose for you and your business, there’s no reason for you to do what you do. In other words, you’re going to struggle with motivation.
Kingdom entrepreneurs must love what they do and must be dedicated to building kingdom businesses for the glory of God. That’s what being passionate means. It means, being full of joy for the work you’re doing because you know it’s God’s business.
Knowing you’re doing God’s business puts an extra spring on your step and motivates you to keep pushing and pressing because you’re doing the will of God.

4. POSITIVE MINDSET
Kingdom entrepreneurs who put their faith in God have no choice but to be optimistic. They are not fazed by challenges because they know whom they have believed and they are confident he can fulfill his promises (2 Timothy 1:12).
You can’t afford to be a glass half empty type of person when you’re trying to build a kingdom business. I agree this isn’t always an easy thing to do, but you have to try. You need to keep your faith and continue to keep dreaming and believing.
A Christian entrepreneur who puts their faith in God is always optimistic. They remain hopeful that what lies ahead is going to be good. Just like Paul the Apostle, they forget those things which are behind and continue to press on.
So never dwell on the past or be negative minded. See every challenge as something you can overcome and a chance to move on to the next level. How you deal with challenges is a true test not only of your faith but also your character.
Continue to stay positive knowing there’s no temptation that’s new to man, and there’s always a way of escape. (1 Corinthians 10:13)

5. RESOURCEFUL
A smart entrepreneur prepares himself for challenges because he knows it’s part of life. They are never caught off guard or unprepared. Successful kingdom entrepreneurs don’t shy away from obstacles or problems, instead they anticipate them and are ready with a solution when they happen.
The habit of resourcefulness is a good habit to develop because it would help you to come up with effective solutions to problems when they arise.
Being resourceful also means you know how to make the best of what you have. A resourceful entrepreneur uses everything at their disposal to find quick and clever solutions. That includes your time, energy, money, and other resources.
To be resourceful, you must be open-minded and willing to constantly improve yourself. That’s how you find out what works and what doesn’t in your business.
6. PROACTIVE
“So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.” (James 2:27)
I went through a season when I spent so much time talking about all the things I wanted to do. I had big dreams, epic goals, and ideas that would change my life and the life of my family. The problem was, I never followed through on any of them.
There’s a reason the Bible says “mere talk leads only to poverty.” It was true in my case and it’s always true. What separates those who fail and those who succeed is implementation.
It doesn’t matter how many times you “claim it” or “visualize it,” If you don’t have a plan, or take action, nothing is going to change. Five years from now you’re still going to be talking about your big ideas, goals, and dreams, while nothing changes.
To be successful, you have to take action no matter what the circumstances around you look like. You don’t put your dream on hold waiting for the right moment. Instead, you step out in faith and start working with what you have while you wait for what you need. This is how lives are changed.
So stop being a hearer or talker, and become a doer (if you aren’t already).
7. GOOD TIME MANAGEMENT
How do you approach your work? Do you work with a sense of urgency or like you have all the time in the world? Unless you know how to manage your time well, you’re going to struggle to grow a successful kingdom business.
One of the most essential habits to have as a Christian entrepreneur is how to manage your time effectively.
The Bible even tells us to redeem the time. How you use your time correlates with how much you can achieve. If you squander most of your time on activities with little or no reward, you won’t make a lot of progress in your life or business.
So many entrepreneurs waste a lot of time on low-value tasks or on activities that have nothing to do with growing a business, then they wonder why they are not reaching their goals.
Knowing how to manage your time requires discipline and a commitment to your goals. When you have a purpose that drives you, it’s easy to stay focused and cut out time-wasting activities.
Unfortunately, time is one thing we can never get back once it’s gone, so be very mindful how you spend your time.
8. PERSISTENT
” Firm or obstinate continuance in a course of action in spite of difficulty or opposition”
You can’t succeed if you give up at the first, second, or even the third sign of trouble. There are lots of good things we could have missed out on if some inventors gave up before they succeeded. Thank God they persisted!
You should adopt the same mindset. If you don’t succeed at first, don’t give, instead, keep trying. Don’t assume something doesn’t work because it didn’t work the first time. Maybe you just need to approach it from a different angle or you need a new set of ideas to come up with the solution.
So many people have given up right before their breakthrough, don’t let that happen to you. A kingdom entrepreneur should persist and persevere until your change comes.
If you continue to persevere and make it a habit to do what you are supposed to, there’s no devil that can stop you from achieving your goals. So get back up and continue to fight. Fight for your dreams and the life and business you desire.
Practice makes perfect, and you can’t lose if you don’t quit.
I feel like I need to add a caveat here. I am not asking you to persist if you’re on the wrong path. That’s called foolishness. But, as long as you’re on the right path, don’t let challenges stop you.
9. CONFIDENT
“Not that we are sufficient in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but our sufficiency is from God.” (2 Corinthinas 3:5)
One of the reasons why Christian business owners fail is lack of confidence. You need confidence to start and run a business.
To succeed, you must believe that you’re capable enough to achieve your goals. You have to believe that you have what it takes to be a kingdom entrepreneur. Yes, you may not know everything or have everything you need, but you still need to be confident.
Now, I am not talking about foolish arrogance where you refuse to ask for help even when you have no clue what you’re doing. What I am talking about is the confidence that stems from knowing God has given you a sound mind, and you can increase in knowledge.
When you know you can do all things through Christ, then you don’t need to doubt yourself or your ability. Instead, you embrace the challenge, prepare yourself, learn what you need to, then step out to pursue your vision.
Your mindset should be, there’s an answer for every problem and I am going to find it.
If you struggle with a lack of confidence, there are a few things you can do. First, pray for boldness, read stories about brave and faithful men and women in the Bible. People who thought they weren’t good enough for what God called them to do. Finally, equip yourself. Lack of confidence sometimes happens because you lack knowledge or adequate skills. So fix that.
10. HUMILITY
“But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” (James 4:6)
The Bible is replete with verses about pride, humility and meekness, but this one is one of my favorite.
I haven’t always been a humble person and I am still prone to pride more than I would like, but there comes a time when you have to admit that you don’t know everything, and you can’t do it alone.
There are lots of business owners who suffer in silence because they are too proud to ask for help. So instead of making progress, they are stuck in a rut because they are too stubborn to get help.
No one knows everything, and no one is skilled in everything. Your strength may be my weakness, and my strength, your weakness. This is normal because we are imperfect beings. What is important is we acknowledge our weaknesses, work on them, and ask for help when we need it.
There are lots of other Kingdom entrepreneurs who have done what you’re trying to do, so seek them out. Get a Christian business coach to help you figure things out. Outsource or delegate some tasks if you’re overwhelmed, you don’t have to do every single thing yourself to be successful.
So, identify the areas of your life or business you need help, then find out where you can go to get help. Don’t undermine yourself because of pride. Be humble so you can continue to enjoy God’s grace.

11. GRATITUDE
I don’t know about you, but I find it hard to be grateful when things aren’t working. Suddenly, I forget every good thing the Lord has done for me and all my many blessings. Thankfully, times like these tend to be short-lived.
A grateful and content heart is a blessing when you’re an entrepreneur because it protects you from stress, greed, and envy. Instead of focusing on what you lack and what other people have, a heart of gratitude focuses on all the blessings they have received.
Now, it isn’t always easy to be grateful or thankful, but if you make it a habit to be grateful each day, it becomes easier.
Something that’s worked for me in the past is to make a list of things I am grateful for each day. They don’t have to be big things. Small things count too. Even something as small as waking up on time is something to be grateful for.
So try it. Become more intentional and practice gratitude. Every day make a list of three to five things you’re thankful for. You can also use a gratitude journal to make things easy. This daily practice works and helps you to focus on things that are going well in your life instead of the negatives.
