Prayer for Struggling Business: 19 Powerful Scriptures to Inspire Faith and Hope
1. PRAY THAT YOU WILL NOT BE DISCOURAGED
“Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:7)
“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” (Jeremiah 29:11)
“Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.” (1 Corinthians 15:58)
When things aren’t going according to plan in your business, it’s easy to feel that God has forsaken you, but you can’t afford to entertain negative thoughts like these. Instead, you need to pray these Bible verses so you can remind yourself of God’s faithfulness and love.
Pray that God will help you to keep a steadfast heart so you can keep your eyes on him. Ask God for his grace and peace so you’re not overwhelmed with anxiety and doubt. You can also remind yourself of God’s promises and the times he’s been good to you and provided for you.
Continue to immerse yourself in God’s word as you work on your business. Do not get discouraged or quit. Keep your eyes focused on God and wait for his deliverance.
Keep God’s goodness front and center of your mind. Be thankful for all the good things that are happening in your business. Don’t get too focused on the problems or negatives. A heart of gratitude will keep you motivated.

2. ASK GOD TO HELP YOU IDENTIFY THE ISSUES AND PROBLEM AREAS IN YOUR BUSINESS
“A fool takes no pleasure in understanding, but only in expressing his opinion.” (Proverbs 18:2)
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.” (Proverbs 3:5)
A prayer for a struggling business must be rooted in truth and a willingness to confront and accept reality. Far too often, Christian entrepreneurs are reluctant to face reality so they hide under the “prayer and faith” banner.
Prayer is powerful and it’s something I couldn’t do without in my life or business. However, I am also aware that there are some things I can do to make my prayers more effective.
So, ask God to open your eyes so you can identify the issues and problems in your business. What are you struggling with? If you don’t know the cause of your struggles, ask God to reveal it to you so you can address it.
Finally, you have to be honest with yourself when you’re praying for a business breakthrough. If you know why your business is struggling, you need to address it. So ask God for his grace and strength to face up to the issues you’re experiencing in your business.

3. PRAY FOR WISDOM TO MAKE THE RIGHT DECISIONS
“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.” (Psalm 32:8)
“Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “I am the LORD your God, who teaches you to profit, who leads you in the way you should go.” (Isaiah 48:17)
The Bible says that if anyone lacks wisdom, let him ask. As you begin to identify the problem areas in your business, you may need to make a few decisions for your business and come up with the right plan.
Some decisions you may need to make include: borrowing more money, downsizing staff and business assets, or streamlining your business. These are all big decisions and require good judgment, so ask God for help.
You can pray something like this “Dear God, your word says if anyone lacks wisdom, let him ask. My business is at a crossroad and I need your help to make some important decisions to revive my business. Grant me wisdom so I can make the best and most effective decisions for my business. You know all things, you know the end and the beginning, so lead me in the way that I should go, for your glory. In Jesus name.”
A simple prayer like this can be really effective and all you need. Finally, when you pray, believe that God will do what he has promised, so step out in faith, and make the best decisions that you can.
5. ASK GOD TO HELP YOU STAY FAITHFUL
“Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.” (Psalm 34:19)
“Though he slay me, I will hope in him; yet I will argue my ways to his face.” (Job 13:15)
A struggling business can cause you to start feeling desperate about your situation. This is usually when you start entertaining ideas that won’t glorify God. That is why a prayer for struggling business must include this component.
You need the grace of God to stay strong and to stay faithful so you don’t cut corners. The grace of God is what will help you to stand firm so you can continue to operate your business with biblical business principles.
Your prayer for business growth isn’t just a prayer for business breakthrough, but a prayer for you to build a successful business that honors God. You glorify God with your business and success when you follow his word. So stay faithful. Resist temptation because you know that your deliverance is at hand. Say like Job “Though he slay me, I will hope in him.”

6. PRAY FOR BOLDNESS TO EXECUTE YOUR PLAN
“For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.” (2 Timothy 1:7)
“In whom we have boldness and access with confidence through our faith in him.” (Ephesians 3:12)
“Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” (Hebrews 4:16)
It can be very scary when you have to make some big changes in your life or business. No wonder many people fail to execute their plan. But, you know that faith without works is dead.
After you have prayed, identified the issues in your business, figured out what you need to do, you need boldness to execute your plan. Ask God to give you the spirit of boldness so that you can do whatever you need to or make the necessary changes in your business.
Sometimes the only way to grow is to make changes. God works in mysterious ways, but he also works in practical ways. So don’t yield to fear, instead, put your confidence in God because you know he cares and his grace is available in time of need.
Here is a sample prayer for boldness:
“Dear Lord Jesus, I know what I need to do but I am afraid because these are big changes I need to make. So Lord, flood my heart with your peace. Give me the courage to do what needs to be done so my business can move from lack to prosperity. I ask this in the name of Jesus.”
7. ASK GOD TO LEAD YOU TO THE RIGHT PEOPLE OR RESOURCES
“The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.” (Proverbs 16:9)
“The steps of a man are established by the Lord, when he delights in his way.” (Psalm 37:23)
As part of your prayer for struggling business, ask God to lead you to the right people and resources. The right people or resources can change your business fortunes.
Maybe there’s something missing in your business that you overlooked or perhaps the reason your business is struggling is that you don’t have the right skillset, equipment, or manpower. Whatever it is you lack or need at this moment, ask God to lead you to it.
For example, the right advice from a Christian business coach can help you get your business back on track. The key is to be open-minded and be willing to listen.
There have been times when I prayed for help for my business and the answer to my prayer came in the form of advice or a suggestion. God works in different ways so don’t limit him or expect him to work in one way.
Remember the heart of man plans his way but it’s God who establishes his steps. So commit your plans to God, let him direct and establish your steps.
8. PRAY FOR GOD’S PROVISION
“And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19)
“The young lions suffer want and hunger; but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.” (Psalm 34:10)
There are lots of reasons why businesses struggle, but one of the most common is lack of finances. Pray for financial breakthrough for your business and for God to sustain you through this difficult time. Tell God you believe that since he’s your shepherd you shall not want.
If you need money to invest in your business, ask for financial blessings and ideas so you can come up with the capital to invest in your business. Outline your financial commitments and ask God to provide for you so you can meet all of them.
Finally, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” (Philippians 4:6)
9. PRAY THAT GOD WOULD REMIND YOU OF HIS PRESENCE
“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” (Psalm 23:4)
“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.” (Isaiah 43:2)
God never changes. He’s always present in good times or bad. It’s easy to lose sight of this fact in difficult times, that’s why you need to be reminded.
Pray that God will help you to remember that he’s present no matter what you’re going through. That he sees you and hears you. He hasn’t forsaken you. Ask the Holy Spirit to comfort you with his presence so you can keep your eyes on the Lord while you wait for an answer to your prayer for business breakthrough.
Pray with me: “God, your word says you will never leave me nor forsake me. I know you’re present even in this difficult time, so help me to keep my eyes on you while I wait for your deliverance. It’s comforting to know you are always with me and you’re the God of the mountain and the God of the valley. Thank you for your faithfulness.”
Don’t you just feel better after saying a prayer like this?
